Parent/Carer forum or Parent/Carer Representative Groups

Parent Carer Forums are representative local groups of parents and carers of children and young people with disabilities who work alongside local authorities, education, health and other service providers to ensure the services they plan, commission, deliver and monitor meet the needs of children and families.

SEND Family Voices (SFV) is the statutory group providing this service for Kingston and Richmond. SFV receive funding from the Department of Education to enable them to carry out their purpose and this also enables them to remain independent.

Top Tip

If you would like to invite parents to face to face consultations or meetings the best time to hold them is between 10am and 2pm or in the evenings after 7pm.  Also, it is best to avoid school holidays as families may not be available due to holidays or caring responsibilities. The more notice you can give the better.  This will make balancing family life easier!
