Description of activity
Heritage2Health (H2h) is a system developed by nurses through Kingston University and St George’s University of London, School of Nursing, Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education.
H2h encourages collaborations between the healthcare and heritage sectors, with the aim of facilitating experiences for vulnerable people who feel socially isolated.
Heritage2Health is a collaborative initiative. Students and staff from the healthcare sector work with artists to jointly plan and host team challenge events at heritage sites.
Participants from the community are invited to take part in these events, often through a trusted source such as a local charity or voluntary organisation.
These events provide benefits for all involved:
therapeutic and motivational experiences – building resilience through facing a challenge
an opportunity for shared learning between generations and cultures
support for new community networks and projects
H2h started in 2005, and has since reached hundreds of people across Kingston. We are keen to grow our project, ensuring more people have the opportunity to benefit from our training and events.
