Areas available to hire
The Moor Lane Centre’s accessible playground, two activity rooms and soft play area are available for parents and carers of disabled children and young people aged between 0 and 18 years or organisations who work with disabled children or young people to hire.
About the areas
Activity Room 1 is equipped for sensory, soft and imaginative play and includes a ball pool.
Activity room 2 is equipped with tables and chairs which can be used for art, music etc. Alternatively, the tables and chairs can be stacked; the room can then be used for games.
The accessible playground and outdoor area has lots of fun equipment such as a climbing frame, clatter bridge, water play, seesaw, climbing wall, wheelchair swing, pod swing, accessible roundabout, trampoline and sandpit. There are outdoor tables and chairs to enjoy a picnic and the area is partially covered with a canopy.
The soft play area is a separate space full of soft play equipment.
There is a kitchen available to use, but parents, carers or organisations must provided their own refreshments.
There are a number of accessible toilets and baby changing facilities for families to use.

Up to a maximum of 30 people (children and adults) can attend an event.
Please contact Moor Lane Centre to provisionally book the playground and activity rooms. The provisional booking will be held for one week only. A booking form and terms and conditions of hire will be sent to you. Booking will not be complete until this has been returned and the hire fee has been paid in full.
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel a booking, otherwise the booking fee cannot be refunded.

The areas can be hired at a subsidised cost of £35 per hour plus an additional 30 minutes before and after the event to set up and clear up. This includes the cost of a support worker throughout the event. For a two hour event, the charge is £105. For a three hour event, the charge is £120. Payment can be made by cash or cheque (made payable to ‘Achieving for Children’) and must be paid within one week of completing the booking form.
