Riding for the Disabled (RDA) Squadrons
For those who need more support, we run 9 small classes a week as a member group of the RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association). These groups are run by around 100 volunteer helpers and instructors, and overseen by a member of staff, the Development Manager.
Squadron 6 runs riding sessions during the week for children and vulnerable adults with special needs, and is open to all, as long as safety is not an issue. These classes operate on Tuesday afternoons, Wednesday mornings, Thursday mornings and Friday afternoons during term-time
Squadron 7 runs on a similar format to the mainstream HRA activities; children will ride every other week, spending the alternate sessions performing tasks around the stables, learning about horse care, and working towards badges. This group is for children with mild/moderate disabilities who are aged 7-12.
