Description of activity
We are an independent registered charity. We support parent/carers with legal SEN advice/information to enable them to find their way through the legal and procedural maze, which is so daunting to so many, who try to obtain satisfactory provision for a child's special educational needs.
Our Co-ordinator, Eleanor Wright is a leading SEN Solicitor and believes passionately about helping children and young people with SEN reach their potential through meeting their educational needs through the right provision and services.
How are we independent? We have two brilliant children's charity shops in Hampton Hill and New Malden called All4Kids and All4Kids 2. Parents fundraise throughout the year for us and we have an annual ball to enable us to give advice, which is independent.
We offer a free, friendly, independent, and confidential term-time only, telephone helpline for parents and others looking for information and advice on Special Educational Needs (SEN).
We run 7 free walk-in advice centres for parents/carers to meet face to face with an experienced SEN volunteer or professional. Centres are located in Aldershot, Kent, Oxford, Thornton Heath, Manchester, East Molesey (opposite Hampton Court Train Station), and a centre near Waterloo train station. We have professionals from Occupational Therapy, Educational Psychology, and Solicitors giving up their time to visit our Waterloo Advice Centre.
We offer 1:1 advice sessions for parents needing more time and advice.
We run regular hand-on workshops at our office, opposite Hampton Court Train Station. Workshops aim to empower parents/carers and young people about their educational rights.
We visit schools and SEN groups to advice on their rights and inform them about the new EHCP process.
