Description of activity

Relate London South West offers FREE counselling to children and young people aged 5-18 years who live or study in Richmond and Kingston boroughs, under a contract with Achieving for Children.

Would you or someone you care for benefit from Relate’s counselling service for young people? This specially designed service is intended to help those who may be:

Feeling torn between parents in conflict
Having difficulty fitting in to a new step-family
Thinking that no-one is listening to them or has time to notice them
Finding it hard to make friends or build relationships with others
Having problems with teachers or employers
If you, or a young person you know or have responsibility for, whether as a parent, a social worker, a probation officer or a teaching professional, might need some time and space to explore and understand their problems with relationships, then we can help.

Relate counsellors don’t judge but they do listen
Relate counselling is confidential and always begins with a introductory session to see whether counselling is for you

Relate has worked with a number of local schools to provide counselling from school premises. If you are a member of the student support team and would like to discuss working in partnership with Relate to establish a confidential counselling service at your school or academy please contact Anna Khan, Director Relate RKH or email.

Relate also offers training, workshops and tailor-made services that can be delivered at your premises. These courses can help staff or young people dealing with difficult emotional situations and families in crisis. We work with hospices, hospitals, schools and youth offending teams.

Counsellors don’t judge, but they do listen, and they can help make a real difference. Counselling is completely confidential and all meetings are held in quiet, private rooms either on site or in our offices in Richmond or Kingston. Counselling hours are normally timed to take place after school or college and there is no charge for these sessions.
