Pauline Maddison has been appointed as the new Director of Children’s Services (DCS) for Kingston on a twelve month contract. Pauline has a wealth of experience and impressed the interview panel (comprising the Leader of the Council, Lead Member for Children’s Services, HR and myself) with her knowledge and passion.

Pauline will be starting with us on 26 November, replacing Rob Henderson who will be leaving AfC to join Croydon Council at the end of the month.

Pauline has only been appointed to the position of DCS in Kingston. Since AfC was created in 2014 we have had a Joint DCS for Kingston and Richmond, leading an integrated service across both boroughs.

As a consequence, Richmond Council have asked me to cover the post of DCS for Richmond until the end of January while they recruit an interim DCS.

I will be working with Pauline, the rest of the Senior Leadership Team for Kingston and Richmond, and the AfC Board, to make sure the new leadership arrangements help us to focus on what’s important, which is providing the best possible services for children, young people and their families.
